Praperadilan Hasto Tak Diterima

The pretrial motion filed by Hasto Kristiyanto, a suspect in the alleged corruption case related to the procurement of social assistance (bansos) for COVID-19 in the Jabodetabek area, was rejected by the South Jakarta District Court.

The rejection of the pretrial motion was based on the consideration that the investigation process carried out by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) was in accordance with the applicable legal procedures.

Pukat UGM ke KPK: Selesaikan Kasusnya!

Responding to the rejection of Hasto's pretrial motion, the Center for Anti-Corruption Studies (Pukat) of Gadjah Mada University (UGM) urged the KPK to immediately complete the handling of the alleged corruption case.

Pukat UGM assessed that the KPK had sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial. The KPK is also asked to ensure that the trial process is carried out transparently and fairly.

Dugaan Korupsi Bansos COVID-19

The alleged corruption case related to the procurement of social assistance (bansos) for COVID-19 in the Jabodetabek area surfaced in May 2020.

The KPK named Hasto Kristiyanto, a former official at the Ministry of Social Affairs, as a suspect in the case. Hasto is suspected of receiving bribes related to the procurement of social assistance packages.

Kronologi Kasus

The alleged corruption case began with the Ministry of Social Affairs distributing social assistance packages to the community affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, in the process of distributing the social assistance packages, there were allegations of irregularities, including the distribution of packages that were not in accordance with the specifications and the existence of markups in the procurement process.

In investigating the case, the KPK collected various pieces of evidence, including documents, witness testimony, and electronic evidence.

The KPK also conducted searches at several locations related to the case, including the offices of the Ministry of Social Affairs and the homes of the suspects.

Tuntutan KPK

Based on the evidence gathered, the KPK charged Hasto Kristiyanto with violating Article 12 letter a or Article 12 letter b or Article 11 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001.

The KPK prosecutor demanded that Hasto be sentenced to 10 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 500 million.

Sidang Lanjutan

The trial of the alleged corruption case related to the procurement of social assistance (bansos) for COVID-19 in the Jabodetabek area is still ongoing at the Corruption Court.

The trial has entered the evidentiary stage, where the KPK prosecutor presents evidence to prove the charges against Hasto Kristiyanto.
